I posted a while back as I was worried about my partner and his shoulder pain.
I googled and it come up with shoulder pain being associated with Pancoast tumour of lung.
Him being an ex smoker I freaked out!

He went to doctors and he had a shoulder X Ray which showed an old injury a dislocated sternum.

He is waiting for a CT now.

He also had blood tests a week ago but heard nothing.

Now my sister said he has lost weight and I think so too and people have commented. He has only done a little bit of extra walking recently not much.

Could it turn out ok? For me weight loss, shoulder pain and ex smoker tells me everything! :(

He doesn't seem to be in severe pain, but I'm worried about the weight loss.
Thoughts?

Hi there :)

I'm sorry your so worried! It's not a great feeling to be fearful over your own or someone you care about's health.

I'm no doctor or anything but old injuries can have pain flare up here and there sometimes, it seems common! Maybe it didn't heal right or perhaps things are rubbing together that shouldn't?

As for weight loss, from what I've read if someone's got a serious illness and drop weight it's usually an alarming amount in a short amount of time, if he's doing some more walking and maybe not eating as much, or maybe what he's eating isn't as high in fat, losing a bit would be normal I think. (going into summer maybe not wanting to eat as much? Being warmer out can affect your appetite sometimes.)

Nothing's shown up on an X ray which is good :) maybe phone up and ask if the results are in for the blood tests so you can see if everything checks out okay on that end to put your mind at ease.

I hope I was able to help calm you a wee bit!

Thank you for your support.

I am a little calmer, I just add up all the signs and come to the worse case :(
