Blood Spots

I was wondering if some one could help me for the past 8 or so years I have had pin sized red dots of blooded looks like a needle pocks shows up mainly on my upper arms when I wake up some very small even smaller then this > : < I know about cherry angiomas I have a couple but These pin pricks size ones come and go and they just started worrying me for some reason so I started researching an it shows for Cancer or HIV and so on how can some one possibly have this for so many years with out becoming very sick or die? I was hoping some would have any info on this I do not have any other symptoms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

They are completely harmless they are called Petechiae, I have a number of them as does my father.

Thanks i was worried but one last thing could someone have hiv or cancer for that long with out any problems?

Not abnormal. I have them as well. Sometimes I wake up with them on my arms. Sometimes my chest. Sometimes my shoulders. It's just a result of sleeping on something, a hand for example.

this may sound a bit irrational but could some have cancer or hiv for all most 10 years and not be very very sick or dead?

I get the spots from leaning on things wrong and also scratching hard!

I have a few of these at any given time, usually on the inside of my elbows or around my hip area. As far as I'm aware, friction is a very common cause. I recently read that even bed bugs can cause them. I've had them on my neck, stomach and legs too and even one on my eye bag. They usually go after around 3 or 4 days.

have you got them on your hands or fingers as well?
