Back in a dark place I thought I had left!

Title of my post says it all.

Its all back, my fear and I'm absolutely convinced that I have bowel cancer. They should have done a colonoscopy not just a flexible sigmoidoscopy, but one of the biggest problems I have is the times I saw the specialists and had the sigmoidoscopy I wasnt experiencing all the IBS symptoms that I guess started around September, so why would they suddenly start.

I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow but what is she going to say!?

My main reason for all.of this is because a lady called Deborah who has been diagnosed with bowel cancer tried to get her doctors to take notice of bleeding and altered bowel habits for 2 years before she finally got herself a private colonoscopy and bang stage 4 cancer.

What do I do guys???

Start with the symptoms directly. You can say that you are concerned about cancer, but if the Doctor is not concerned about cancer ask about how to treat the symptoms you have. Ask about timeframes for effective treatment to work and query what the next steps are if they are not. Arm yourself with information and act on it because if you just focus on this being cancer you are not likely to get very far very fast.

I guess you've been through anxiety before? Start treating that if you can remember how. If you are having IBS symptoms you may also want to look at altering your diet or pursuing other treatments (that I am not aware of). It could be anxiety making it flare up but you can attack it from both sides.
