I really need to have an MRI on Wednesday but I get panic attacks and I am claustrophobic. I have been prescribed diazepam. Does anyone know if they will help please as this will be my third try I haven't been able to it because of these reasons. Please help. Thank you in advance.

Yes diazepam will work, depends if its 5mg or 10mg or even stronger.
I hope you will tell the Dr or nurse about the situation.
Normally they will give you the medication when you get to the hospital and wait to see if you can go ahead, you should feel a bit drowsy. Good Luck:hugs:

Probably a bit too late now, but for the benefit of other posters, you could ask for Temazepam or Clonazepam instead if you find the diazepam doesn't work. Temeazepam has a very rapid onset of action and short duration of action. Although its indication is insomnia, its very effective as an anxiolytic.

Clonazepam is also a very effective anxiolytic
