woke up today at around 4:30, hearing my heart produces double beats. constantly. well... let me explain.

first, listen to the YouTube video "Audio Heart Sounds of Normal Heart Beat". (i'm too new here, can't link video yet)

normally it sounds like: "LUBB dup PAUSE LUBB dup PAUSE ... "

i can feel my heart beats when i'm sitting or laying and can hear the beats through my pillow in the bed. normally i hear this "LUBB dup PAUSE LUBB dup PAUSE ..." sound, but today as i woke up, i heard a second "dup" AFTER EVERY SINGLE BEAT. also felt my body "shaking" (internally) with the beats.

it was like this:

"LUBB dup dup LUBB dup dup LUBB dup dup"

it felt like there was no PAUSE because that space was filled with this second "dup".

took my blood pressure and measured my HR with the Cardiio APP. the devices didn't show anything, felt only the big LUBBs, so my HR was theoretically okay. but it was higher than usual. my normal HR in bed is around 50-55, and today it was 65. BP also a bit higher: 110/70 (normal: 90-100/60).

you guys have any idea was this was? flutter? or just my imagination (but why did i wake up then...?) ?

of course this ruined my whole day. just finished my breakfast in full lethargy... :weep:

thx guys!

Really sorry you're having a rough time. Obviously I'm not medically qualified but it sounds like maybe you were having ectopics after each beat....either that or you were getting some kind of 'echo' back from your heartbeat?

What's good from what I know is that your heart rate wasn't going too fast (although even when hearts do go fast it doesn't usually mean anything dangerous, but of course it is something that needs checking out) and was otherwise regular. Your blood pressure is good too. And your heart rate.

Obviously it's best to get checked out, but it doesn't 'sound' worrying to an informed lay person here.

Well these Lubb dup dup beats make a change from the Bam Bam beats in your previous thread. How on earth do you expect us to know what these beats are? Yes they might be ectopics but only your doctor would know for sure. I would make an appointment to see yours.

1 heartbeat = 1 bam (the pressure you can feel with your finger) = 1 lubb-dup (the sound you can hear with a stethoscope or in my case: through my pillow)

tried my best to describe my symptoms, but english is not my native tongue, sorry. just hoped that somebody experienced similar things.

but you're right. i'll make an appointment... sometime... my stepfather does have proven heart problems and i see how the cardiologists handle him... barbarians...

That's ok, if your native tongue is deutsch then your English is really good....better than mein deutsch! If you're trying to describe what feels like 'dropped' beats, or unevenly spaced beats or flutters, then it does sound like ectopics yes. Despite the barbarians in your cardiology dept, it's a good thing to get it checked out. I'm surprised by this though, because I'm an English woman living in Germany and ive always found the doctors and specialists here to be really good.
