Virus - or something worse??

I woke up in the night two nights ago with terrible aches and pains in legs and arms. Took my temperature and it was 101. Also had banging headache. Spent yesterday in bed feeling wiped out and sweating. Sweating all night - took temperature again and 102 and legs still aching.
Does this sound like a virus? I am thinking it probably is but strange symptoms and my HA is making me doubt and think I have some awful disease?

Sounds like typical influenza

thanks so much for your response. I did wonder if it was flu but I don't have a cold/cough or sore throat.
