I have had health anxiety fr the last 8 years. I has been better for the last couple years. However in November, I began to get dizzy. After which, I went to the walk in and was diagnosed with vertigo, after doing movement tests (which didn't make me feel any more or less dizzy). After two more weeks, I went to my PCP and explained to her the situation. She looked in my ear and saw fluid behind my ear drum and diagnosed me with allergies. Also I was worried so I asked her about my tinnitus (which I have for about 7 years to that point; I went to the ENT twice and she said she couldn't determine the cause, however, my hearing was in fine). My PCP scheduled me for an MRI at the end of the month. She also gave me predinose to see if it made the ringing go away. It didn't, but it made my jaw feel alittle better (jaw tension and teeth grinding for years). A week later, my anxiety got the better of me and I decided to go to the hospital. The doctor was very nice, and did a full blood count, including blood panel, TSH, liver function, a neuro exam, and a ct scan. CT scan came back clear, with mild mucousal thickening in numerous sinuses. He saw a mild nystagmus (eye shake) and diagnosed me with labrynititus (spelled wrong), and told me it would resolve in a number of weeks. The MRI cam back normal with the same sinus issue.

Over the next couple weeks, I remained dizzy even though I was taking mecliyzine (anti-nausea pills). During this time, I started to get what felt like chest spasms. I was worried it was my heart. I ran to the walk in, they performed an EKG, which was normal, and they chalked it up to acid reflux. I started to take anti-acids. However, they did not go away. I went back to the walk in and they did another EKG which was normal, and reconfirmed their previous diagnosis but suggested I make an appointment with a gastro specialist. However, they provided me with the results (which was a mistake), I saw it said abnormal EKG on the piece of paper, so I freaked out. A week later, I ended back the hospital. Full blood count, and an EKG. Everything came back clear, (except my glucose was a little high at 105, which made me suspect diabetes). The doctor confirmed it was nothing serious.

At the end of March, I went to the gastro and he did a couple blood test, a poop test, and suggest it was just acid reflux, due to all the meds I had been on. However, he suggested they do the blood test again to test my liver function because my ALT was elevated. I believed I has hepatitis, but the tests showed it went down to normal levels. He also did a celiac test which show no celiac disease but an elevated IgA. Of course, I believed I had multiple myeloma, lupus or other autoimmune diseases. During this time, the other things that were bothering me subsided except for a weak feeling in my thighs which I can't recall when it started, also my knees began to hurt. I ran back to my PCP, and asked about my knees and my IgA. She said that we can test it again, and that my knees we hurting probably because my back was extremely tense. She also tested me for lyme disease because I was scared of that too. Lyme came back negative. My IgA came back lower, but still elevated with IgG, and IgM at normal levels Also I received a ANA panel which was clear as well. Currently, my legs and arms feel weak on and off (mostly on), so I'm worried about Mysteria gravis (spelled wrong), I've asked my doctor give me a blood test for that, which I haven't her from her yet. Also I am still worried about myeloma because of the elevated IgA. Any suggestions about my concerns will help. Thank you.

The first half of this sounds like what has happened to me. I thought I had a brain tumor or MS and an MRI and CT scan that were normal. Now I think there's something wrong with my heart even after blood tests x-rays and EKGs. My next step is probably a gastroenterologist as I get heartburn frequently. It's likely all anxiety, when I take Xanax most of my problems go away. Keep me posted, I guess I'm "behind" you in terms of tests.

Hey thanks for the support. Your "heart thing" (for lack of a better term) sounds like mine, it was just alittle bit of reflux which doesn't bother me any longer. Right now, my jaw is super tense, and the leg weakness seems to be a very tight lower back. That's what I think now, but it doesn't mean I don't worry about it from time to time.

You know, I never tried the medication route. It's just hard to believe this is from anxiety when I'm not really anxious, and I haven't had a panic attack in years (maybe months).

I had bad dizzy spells for about a year. They would come on suddenly and would often be accompanied by panic attacks. I have suspected and been checked for benign positional vertigo, tmj disorder, b12 deficiency, carbon monxide poisoning (from my car), chronic cryptosporidiosis and a lot of other conditions!

Eventually I tracked it down to a suddenly developed sensitivity to caffeine. I now can't drink decaf coffee or even tea. Total cold turkey but the sudden dizzy spells have gone and I don't get anxiety attacks as sudden or as frequently.

It may be worth trying to cut out caffeine for a bit? Although caffeine withrawal brings on a whole host of other symptoms! (I was going to link to caffeine withdrawal symptoms but my post count isn't high enough.)
