I was diagnosed with benign heart palpitations a few years ago and can have up to 20,000 per day when they are really bad. I went through a lot of testing (including seeing a specialist called an electrophysiologist who specializes in arrhythmias) and my cardiologist and the specialist ruled them benign.

The palps seem to come in waves. I'll have them for a while very badly and then not much for months. Fast forward a few years and I just went to my cardio again for my annual checkup during a time when the palps are in a frequent phase- - and he ordered another stress test! I was surprised as I thought he'd just reassure me and on my way I'd go.

It took a lot of effort a few years ago to get to a place where I trusted his diagnosis as benign. Now I'm wondering why he is retesting me if he's so sure they are benign. I'm concerned.

Meaning he's not sure or ...?

 No! It's been a few years and he's making sure his diagnosis stands as well as getting a new baseline for your condition. If you're that concerned, call and ask why.

Just circling back - I had the stress test today. Wowee I was holding on the front handlebar for dear life! ;) That thing was moving so fast. It felt energizing actually and reminded me how strong my body is. I felt so good (and exhausted) getting off that treadmill.

My results were great. All is well. :yesyes:

Now back to my goal of reducing my stress so these palps aren't so frequent. I have a lot of work to do ahead of me. Some very real and very serious stress in my life that will turn my life upside down to "correct." I'm scared, I've been avoiding it, but it's time to pull on my big-girl panties and do that I have to do for myself and my child.

Wish me luck.

Yeh those last 30 secs made me sweat.

"Can you do another 30secs?"

"You bet I can!" (Why the false bravado when my legs are about to collapse?)

Climbing back onto the table afterward, my heart was thumping so hard -- I tell ya, it felt good.

Hope you got positive stress test results, too, Fish - and yes, you told me so! :)
