Hi all,
I am honestly searching for some comfort in knowing that I am not the only person in this world that suffers from such debilitating anxiety. After reading through some of the forum posts I feel much better. I suffer from probably generalized anxiety and depression. Never know which comes first. They both feed off each other. I recently increased my escitalopram to 20mg after being on 10mg for about a year. I am desperately waiting for it to kick in. Trying to get up and go to work has been excruciating due to the anxiety and constant negative thoughts. I've suffered from both GAD and depression most of my life but didn't have officially identified until 2009 when I was house bound for literally 4 months due to severe anxiety. Since then I've been on celexa and now escitalopram. Both I feel saved my life. I may need to change meds if I don't feel myself again within a couple weeks. Dr. said one that can go up in dosage. Anyway that's a brief overview and I'm hoping learn as much as I can.

Welcome Al! No you are not the only one that suffers from panic and anxiety attacks. Glad medication works for you! There is a lot of helpful information here, I would look at the GAD board.
