Just had an, "off me head" experience phoning my mother in her care home:huh:
Anybody who has somebody in one of these homes may just know how I feel?

Hi Bottleblonde, it's a case of my mother being in a Care Home since the age of 55, never goes out and has major obssesive issues.

Recent years the Home has been taking violent people, mum has been knocked to the floor.

She is a difficult personality in a violent place, very few, if any alternatives.

thanks for your reply, it helps.

Dave:)

HI Dave

Dreadful situation, I really feel for you.

Although my mum isn't in a care home, with me being an only child she relies on me heavily for everything because of her mental issues (spanning over 45yrs) whilst being physically quite fit for her age.

My dad was due to go into a care home but passed away before this happened, and I know at the time I viewed the prospect with some trepidation.

The social care in this country has a lot to answer for.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a bit of moral support mate.

Hi Dave,

I really feel for you on this, my heart goes out to you and your mum.

I worked in a care home for a number of years, loved the job, the care home I worked at was a residental home, at one point a new man came in, he was violent and at one point punched and kicked me. I told the owner of the home that for the elderly mans safty (I was scared he would hurt others or himself) he should be in a nuring home. They did move him.

You say that there is, very few, if any alternatives, have you looked around, can you ask at your mothers home if there is any?

Thinking of you and your mum

TAKE CARE

LOVE JILLXX
