I have had this before so its not new. I have severe neck problems that cause pain in head and down arm and I am guessing it could be related as neck is bad at moment but whenever i go from sitting to standing I am getting sharp pains in top of head in time to my heartbeat for a few seconds. It usually lasts for a few days then goes away.
My bp is fine I have been taking it 3 times a day recently.
Just wondered if anyone else ever gets this. I have had mri brain scans in the past ( last one 4 years ago) with no issues.

I've had that, and it's awful. The one spot on the head. Ugh.
It is connected to neck muscles. I think it's called the sternocleidomastoid muscle. You can Google it and see what issues it causes.

wow thanks melonpony for that. A gp told me about a year ago when I mentioned the pain in time with my heartbeat on rising that this is usually caused by your neck but he didn't explain further. I also get alot of jaw/ear pain as well which fits.

Glad it helped! I get all of the symptoms associated with the tight sternocleidomastoid, all just on my left side.
I think it's so tight at this point that I'm looking at a long term battle.
