Hi again. So I'm dealing with high blood pressure, my doctor orders an ecg and a echocardiogram which is a heart ultrasound I guess. On the requisition he writes in the notes, hypertension heart disease. Wtf. Why would he write that? I'm about to freak out as I'm thinking now I have heart disease. My test is tomorrow. I have no symptoms other than palipitations and racing heart when I get a hot flash, I've had this my whole life. Heart disease????????
Please help me wrap my brain around this as I am in a huge panic right now.

Hypertension is another way to say high blood pressure which can have a negative impact on your heart. That doesn't mean you have heart disease in the classic sense. What you are feeling now are classic signs of anxiety. Deep breaths.
