I wondered if anyone has had a luck with self help books on health anxiety? I can see a lot online but didn't know if any of them were any good. I'm hoping to understand the condition more in order to get a better hold of it as at the moment it's flaring up massively.

Thank you

There was a book published recently by an irish journalist who underwent a bad bout of anxiety which shattered her life. The book is really really excellent and has received rave reviews here in Ireland and UK. It's different from most other books on anxiety in that it's written by a recovered anxiety sufferer rather than a medic, psychologist or other independent person. The book is divided into small chunks and is very manageable to read. Been top of our non-fiction best seller chart for 2 months:

This book is not specifically about health anxiety, but it is all about helping anxiety in general and it is excellent.
It is called 'Hope and Help for Your Nerves' by Dr. Claire Weekes. Her advice is practical, and it works!

Not a book but a great self-help resource with info and excercises. Credit goes to axolotl for the link.

Wish I'd known about it when I was dealing with HA. It may have saved me paying a fortune to my psych. No just kidding, ideally you would be receiving therapy from a mental health expert as well.

I can advise you to take a look at Booksrun (https://booksrun.com/). They have a big variety of textbooks and books, so you can find something that can help you in your disease.
