This site really helps. I've already in my short time here picked up a lot of valuable insights, along with my meds and counseling of course.

I may be wrong, but the more I learn about this thing we call "HA," the more I believe it's a manifestation of being an anxiety prone individual to begin with. How it gravitates toward HA, I'm not sure, but without going into detail, I've been "uptight" about other things at varying levels of intensity my whole life.

What's interesting is that I've had other "health scares" in the past, would go to the doctor or specialist or whatnot, have them tell me it's nothing serious, and go on my merry way, not giving it a second thought.

WHY I acquired HA about a year ago, I have no idea, other than I've had other life-issues that while not catastrophic, caused me worry, one thing right after another. Was that the trigger or the fuel to the HA fire? I don't know.

The things that have helped me won't surprise many of you and has been told on this board many times - DON'T GOOGLE and BELIEVE YOUR DOCTORS! Many other things too have helped but these are biggies for me.

I certainly don't have answers and don't pretend to have my HA under control, but it's getting better. I guess my advice (to myself) and anyone here is to keep working on it.

Best of luck to you all!

Great post and I agree. I was anxious as a child about going new places like going on holiday or on a school trip and really anxious about arguing with people. Just couldn't handle it. It seemed to disappear for a while then a seriously stressful year in a job I hated with no support made it all come back again but this time it's more HA. I had never experienced heart palpitations as a kid with my anxiety however that's how it has come back. I had my first panic attack and I was so scared and it's been with me since!
I'm working on it and am powering through. Best of luck to you too, it's nice to hear that you're getting better.

We are all in this together :)
