Is my ativan not working? advise please!!!

So as proscribed by my doctor I have 1mg lorazepam(ativan).
I did a dry run on it last night I took 0.5 then 30 minutes later took another 0.5
I wasn't feeling anxious at the time I just wanted to do a trial run. But it just brought on my vertigo which in turn made me anxious..😩 So does this mean ativan isn't right for me or is the dose to small or too much? I'm 6ft 200lbs

You won't notice the effects unless you're already anxious, unless you take large doses.

I wouldn't read too much into a single trial. Lorazepam is absorbed relatively slowly taking around 2 hours to reach maximum blood plasma levels and it also has low lipid solubility which slows penetration through the blood-brain barrier. How long did the vertigo triggered anxiety last?

Well I took 0.5 couldn't feel anything so I took another 0.5 that's when the vertigo came on. I guess I'll have to put myself in a position when I feel anxious and see what happens!

About 1 hour I was okay when I Realised It was just vertigo and nothing was wrong.
