sore tounge on the sides of tounge

hello all
for a while now i gave been getting ulcer like sores on the side of my tounge. i have seen the doctor twice and thinks it may relate to low folic asda and to much sugar as i drink a lot of coke.
Just wondered if this was common and how they solved it? but with health anxiety i am thinking its like cancer or sumit
any input will be great

Well... perhaps a folic acid supplement and diet coke would be in order ;)
