I know lot of discussion has been going on on this , I had some typical symptoms night sweats and enlarged lymph node to my right throat for a month now , night sweats are isolated to head , neck and chest , driving me crazy , I had amcal full course , had blood work done which came out normal ( with cautious 312 on Ferrum reading , normal is 300 ) , CT scan of neck , abdomen and chest came out normal with slight dilation in my right kidney , which they say is not a biog deal , I had 2 GP say go back and relax , one gastro specialist say nothing to worry and had visited an oncologist who recommended a FNCA and told 99 percent not an issue , but just need some support and suggestion from you guys out there , did anybody had similar case and did not get /got diagnosed with some type of cancer , thanks for your help

I'm a Stage IV Head and Neck cancer survivor. I wish I had one doctor let alone 2 GPs and 2 Specialists tell me I had nothing to worry about!

Good bless you , have a long and healthy life brother.. this question was not to offend any one , but to get support , google makes it worse , all tests I have gone through have been debunked by one or the other cases in other forums .

blood test - is not conclusive with lymphomas

CT scans - have been know to be false negatives

FNCA - have been know to be false negatives

I just need to know whats happening with me with all these night sweats and lymph node suddenly

I don't take offense at all. I'm just trying to illustrate that you don't have a medical issue. Not one doctor nor test indicate anything physically wrong with you. Can a test be wrong? Can a doctor be wrong? Sure... not 4 doctors and several state of the art scientific medical testing.

As far as support? I'll be right there cheering you on when you get help for your anxiety. Offering additional reassurance after you've had the best reassurance there is just feeding your anxiety.

I've not heard of a FNCA. Do you mean a FNAB? (Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy).

Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology ... Oncologist was reading through the CT scan and blood reports and said biopsy is not required get FNCA done...

Ok.. looked it up. It's very similar if not the same. Curious that they would do that after all the other negative results as it is an invasive procedure. Well, my FNAB confirmed what scans, tests and doctors suspected. Guess it's CYA medicine at work. Based on the accuracy of biopsies (the gold standard), when you get an all clear you can put this behind you and address your anxiety about it.

I do have a question... were you referred to the gastro and oncologist or did you go on yourself?

Thanks , I am in Australia , GP refused to refer to specialists , I flew back to my home country and approached specialists as I did not wanted to wait until this blows up if it is something sinister ...Gastro(he is a friend or mine) ordered a CT and told nothing to worry ...he told me to have a second opinion with Onco when I told him I am worried about lymphoma ... Onco told me he is 99 percent not worried but un-diagnosed night sweats are a worry so get FNCA which will remove you from pursuing cancers atleast

Just got an update on FNA , non specific reactive lymphoid hyperplasia , GP told its just some reaction to infection and told have a chat with a ENT if this helps , I have an appointment with ENT next week , let me see if that helps , I still have night sweats , not sure where to go from here...no end to my feeling of helplessness,,,,

Do you realize that you're fine? All they found is a NORMAL reactive lymph node. It reacted to a virus or bacteria. Essentially all it was is a lymph node doing what it's supposed to do?

Do you know how much someone like myself or others with a serious condition would give anything to get the results you have? Count you blessings and think about how fortunate you actually are and get help for the illness that's doing more harm than the cancer you thought you had.
