melanoma under nail?

this morning while cutting my nails, i noticed that a small reddish brown dot appear under my toenail. i don't think it hurts, but when i think about the dot, i feel pain. it also seems like there is a little irregular line going from the dot to the border on my nail. i am scared that it is melanoma, although it is really rare and mostly found in black or dark skinned population, and i am white. it could be dried blood, from stubbing my toe or wearing tight shoes, but i am still very scared. has anyone had something similar before?

Sounds like blood under your nail, not melanoma. Like you said, you probably stubbed your toe or your shoes irritated it. I've had this many times. Nothing to fret over!

I had this, not sure what caused it but it grew down with the nail very slowly.
