hi, this is my first post and i could really do with some help! nov06 i started suffering from dizziness almost 24/7 went to the docs and he told me it was an inner ear problem.I felt like i was drunk all the time wen i hadnt even had a drink, fnnily enogh tho it dissappears wen i have had alcohol! Then in dec06 i was at work wen a had a real bad dizzyspell, my heart was pounding thru my chest i couldnt stop shaking and i thort ia was dying i ended up in a and e and they told me it was a panic attack and to go home and rest. Its now may 2007 and i am still no better.Had appointment with ent specialist who said it was not inner ear prob. I have an almost constant anxious feeling inside, you know that feeling of apprehension wen u are waiting to ring the docs for test results or wen your a kid and youve done something wrong! im suffering from palpatations and get the shakes quite often, its like ive got a cloud hanging over me that i cant shift. I also seem to get involuntary muscle spasms which can happen anywhere on my body kind of like mini electric shock. am i going crazy or does anyone think it could be an anxiety problem? ive always been a natural born worrier and a pessimist so you can imagine i think ive got something seriously wrong with me! doc prescribed me anti depressants in feb but i decided against taking them id rather tackle whatever i have without meds if i can. thanks for listening x

Yo Geordie Flower...

You're NOT going mad. You have the physical symptoms of extreme anxoiety which would be enough to alarm anyone. Try to not to worry about them too much if you can. Distract yourself in any way possible and try to keep up a steady and regular deep-breathing rhythm from time to time.
You have my admiration for trying to cope without the anti-depressants. I've had issues with these drugs for years and have been through numerous combinations at one time or another.
Ever read "Self-Help For Your Nerves" by Dr. Claire Weekes?

There's lots of support here, so be welcome and look after yourself.

Best wishes:hugs:

I can sympathise with your inner ear problem as i suffer with bouts of dizziness too! Do you take medication for it?

Hi Geordie Flower

Thanks for your reply.

Nice to know your doing these things and I'm glad they are helping.
I must remeber to do them more often myself, especially when I'm stressed or upset about something.

Peace and Goodwill:)
