Of course, the more opinions on this the better the final product will be. :yesyes:

All commments and criticism's are very very welcome.

I like the Rose - very light and airy (unlike me lol)!

I love the one with the rose on it, not so keen on the ones with the faces or the one with the hands holding as not everyone has someone to hold their hand when they need it

I like the fragility and simplicity of the rose and the freedom of the bird..

.....but they're all good (except the cheesy grin!)

.......can we have both?

Sorry, GG's a 'greedygranny' 'aint she?

1. 'Despair' - I really like this - a very emotional image
2. 'Smiling Girl' - far too cheesy for my liking!
3. 'Blue Rose' - as we've said before, rather cold
4. 'Water' - OK, but I find the dark area on the left very distracting.
5. 'Hands' - looks like the hands are from the same person; perhaps being clenched in anger rather than a hand from a compassionate friend
6. 'Dove' - quite good but lacks the human element.
7. 'Dandelion' - this is my favourite by far - the girl is blowing away the elements of the dandelion, each one represting a layer of anxiety being discarded.

btw, will our forthcoming strapline be used at the base of the leaflet?

Anyway, thanks for putting these together Ross

Hi

My first choice would have to be the rose, i do like the dandilion one but not too keen on the darker colours, the rose looks calmer.
I did like the idea of the dove as its a symbol of peace, but without the human hands releasing the dove (cant find a pic large enough)im not too sure.
Anyway enough rambling .......lol

My first choice would have be the rose:)

I think the rose one looks like a sanitary towel advert and the water drip thing looks like a box of Tena lady incontinence pads!! (lol) I like the dandelion one for the reasons Ray stated.

The rose totally does it for me hun - that's just what I meant but didn't explain well!! I may knit you some more trunks now!!

Perhaps we'll have enough to vote on soon!!

There is just something about the Rose one I really dislike.

I'm not sure whether it's the colour or just the overall thing. I think it looks terrible against the colour of the logo. I can alter the colour of the rose to anything, but not sure which way to go with it.
It's also quite feminen, and does indeed look like a sanitary towel advert as Kay so lovingly put it

For me, the Dandelion Seed is my favourite. I cant decide between Landscape and Portrait though!

I see an alternative to Ray's analogy though; I see it as the individual seeds as being us, and we are being set free from Anxiety. (I think I prefer Ray's theory though)

EDIT: I replaced the bottom Dandelion image with correct aspect to make it easier to visualise.

Ross, are these royalty free images you're using?

Ross, are these royalty free images you're using?

No, these are all renders I have paid for. Some are 'Royalty Free' but have conditions on using them for anything other than private use. I have paid for them all, some of which are only $0.99 but that entitles me to use them for any purpose.

I like the theory behind the dandelion one (and indeed like the dandelion) - I just don't like the colours or the fact there is a person in it - I'd rather the wind was just blowing the seeds!

Ross have you looked at the flyers Alex and Nic are doing - although they haven't got pictures as such on them it would be nice if the pamphlet toned in colour wise with what they've done cos then it all sort of gels together. Cos possibly a flyer would be popped inside the pamphlet at the point of selling.

Perhaps we could see more dandelions against a nice blue sky with fluffy clouds. Sorry am I being abit 'Noddyland' like!! :yesyes:

Have had another look and i know why i love the child blowing the dandelion,it reminds me of lazy summer days of childhood pre-panic..and it is a lovely warm feeling:) just thought i would share that:blush: and then the thought of the seeds just floating makes me think of falling ,like in a parachute, which brings on panicky feelings:wacko: Ah me,oh my!! Love Paddie.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ross
22-05-07, 13:55
OK, so I have got rid of the green background, had to steal sky from another render, the Dandelion seed from another, and all three escaped seeds from another

I hate it! Blue doesn't go with the Logo. :weep:

There's only one thing for it - PUB TIME! (well it is Two in the Afternoon):emot-whistle:

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/rossinbristol22/NMP-Cover-Dandelion-BLUE.jpg

ROFL!!!!

Well you most certainly do deserve a drink now don't you petal (no pun intended).

I sorta see what you mean about the logo getting lost on the background but the blue does look much crisper and positive etc!!

If, and it's a big if, you feel like having a go with just a blue sky with big white fluffy clouds and the writing against the white of the clouds - just to humour me that would faberoony - if only to say Piglet that looks like crap!!

Also what about just the dandelion head like the one in my attatchment but make the background blue not green and put the logo over the dandelion head???

I must remember to ask Nic if she is settled on the strapline for definate yet as we will want to add that in next to the NMP logo etc.

I guess we don't want too busy a background cos there will be a little bit of writing going over the whole lot in the end!

Piglet :flowers:

22-05-07, 14:11
Ross looking at that one again - what about if you didn't have the girl on it at all and just make the dandelion head much bigger and have the writing sitting over that so it shows up against the white of the dandelion head????

I actually do really like the colours you know - think it looks fresh and appealing. Your very very clever!

Ross,

I think this is a great cover which just needs a bit of tweaking. :shades:

I would try and reduce the size of the logo and move it up a bit so the uppermost seed is clearly visible.

Is there a way we are able to do the dove part of the logo the same shade as the word 'Panic'?

Do we really need (c) No More Panic www.nomorepanic.co.uk (http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk) on the front page? I think this is better suited to the back page, and it detracts from the cover design too much.

I would like to see a cover that conveys calmness and in order to achieve this, it's better to keep words to a minimum.

Enjoy your Stellas:emot-yum:

The cover of these leaflets look superb, especially the most recent one on the top of this page. It looks very professional although the No More Panic logo doesn't stand out enough in front of the blue.

Mind you, you don't have to change the blue background, perhaps just lighten up the logo a little bit, and then it should be perfect.:)

Ross
23-05-07, 17:47
The problem is, the logo is part of a corporate image, which can't be altered tbh.

I'll see if I can insert a cloud or something behind the logo to lighten that area.

Ray, the Copyright info is really only put there so that the images have a bit of protection against being 'half-inched'. I doubt it is relevent thoguh lol.
I'm sure it won't be required on final production for the cover.

Ross
23-05-07, 18:08
Okies - So here is the next step possibly?

Background Lightened as to compensate for Logo, Dandelion Seeds have been moved and lightened to compensate for Background.
"Survival Handbook" changed to NMP Drk Blue.

Petal,

Calmness isn't my style in photography, and the only one I've found that is a contender is this one. If I was more able, I'd try and shoot a dedicated image for the cover hun, but I'm just not up to that, sorry.

Anyway, feel free to place titles over this!

I love the image of the dandelion but for personal reasons. When i was in labour i got a midwife who was big on visualisation, she was getting me to try and relax and control my breathing and got me to think of a flower moving to and fro with each breath blowing away the pain. All was going well untill she suggested a dandelion and i blew out imagining all the seeds blowing away the contraction then breathed in and an instant image of getting a mouth full of seeds popped into my head totally blew the concentration and didn't know wether to laugh or cry but at least it was a distraction. It still makes me smile in the summer when i see little children picking them to blow and i want to shout don't breathe in.:flowers:

Centred the images on the page (as opposed to before, but ha, noone noticed )

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i85/rossinbristol22/Cover-Montage-NEW.jpg

Not to go into too much detail, but I'd like to point out that all the colours you see on the monitor are completely different to what the print will look like. All these files have had to be saved as JPG format so that they can be uploaded onto here, and that also alters the colours. I just want to be very cautious when it comes to clashing of colours (especially with the full size images on sample 1 - 33898034634). I'm concerned that although they look OK on screen, they will look pants on paper.

Piglet
26-05-07, 19:48
Ross that really is good hun - think we are getting somewhere now.

All I would say is that in the interest of balance colourwise, I would have one of the bottom boxes with a pic that has similiar colours as the sunflower - or indeed use the sunflower twice maybe. We don't want to be top heavy do we mate!! :yesyes:

:yesyes: Ross, this one speaks volumes to me!!! its very eye catching and love the circles, like many layers of anxiety been blown away!!! its also like a circle of hope, each layer of emotion been blown away by the breath of life!! reavealing a peaceful calmer self!!!!

This by far is my favourite as it is simple and relaxing on the eyes as well as emotions. The breath is very important with anxiety sufferers and it is often the first techique to use in helping others to take control in calming panic and anxiety. This image re enforces how important breathing is in calming symptons of anxiety.

Well done, its very effective!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jess those are marvellous!!

Now if Eebs and Ross will come along and work their magic on turning the pics into possible covers when they get time that would be fab - my personal fav is the sunflower pic with the most sky. Or put the image in a big box and have a white background around with the text etc on. Whatever you think works?!!!

Eebs, Ross you lot out there???

I'm getting excited (really Pig we can't tell) about how well we are progressing with this!!! :yesyes:

I've just had one of those free business directory magazines (glossy A5) for our local area pushed through the door and the layout is very much the way I was thinking for the pamphlet.

Do any of you get those once a month and know what I mean. This one has been very well done using the picture offset slightly to the right and a coloured vertical bar down the left hand side and another coloured bar along the top, then the text appears in a lighter colour.

They've used www.imagesfromnature.co.uk (http://www.imagesfromnature.co.uk) for their pic on the front cover which is very similiar to the pics Jess has provided etc.

Could anyone dig one of these sort of brochures up for illustration purposes - I haven't got a scanner so can't show you exactly what I mean.
