Fluoxetine side effects

Hi, i've been taking fluoxetine for anxiety for 8 months. For the past 3 months i've been having massive mood swings from happy highs to suicidal lows. Has anybody experienced this?

I took Prozac and it never touched the panic/anxiety - just the depression.

Maybe it isn't working for you.

Hi,

I tried prozac and it made my anxiety so much worse. I never suffered from depression so don't know about that. I suggest you notify your doctor regarding your mood swings immediately.

Hi Stuart,

Yes-I agree with both Nic and Southern Belle-I've heard that Prozac can heighten anxiety and when I asked my doc why she'd never tried me on it (I've had GAD), she said it wasn't suitable for my condition.
