Hi all...I live in a small town and a man in town has gone missing. no history of mental illness or drugs so most likely possibilities are foul play (unlikely) or suicide (likely). I'm terrified for my safety now and have literally been scared of leaving my house. My parents are leaving this weekend and ill be alone or just with a friend or two in my house and im scared maybe it was foul play and something will happen to me. I have bad anxiety but this has really put me over the edge.

But you said foul play was unlikely so why are you so scared? What are the circumstances...did he disappear from his house or while out walking or after a night out?

he went out for a walk but took nothing with him-no phone, keys, etc. never came back. they say no foul play but they haven't found him yet.

If by 'they' you mean the police and they say no foul play, then they've most likely been talking to his family about his state of mind. It's always unnerving when something like this happens in a small community, nobody is ever 100% safe anywhere though, but you're more safe in your home than outside of it.

Try not to scare yourself with 'what ifs' ...you'll be fine. Hopefully this poor chap will be too.

Like you said, it is unlikely that it is foul play, so try not to worry. This happens alot in my area, seems like every month you will see in the papers and local news that someone has just walked out there house and gone missing and pretty much all the time is turns out they have suffered from mental health issues.

Hopefully he is found safe and well.
