Hi
My name is Robin Hall. I am co-author of the CBT4Panic programme that is recommended here on nomorepanic

I just wanted to let everyone know that the programme will be available permanently FREE online from now on.

You can access all the CBT workbooks, 56 Videos and emergancy audios and Therapist/Patient Dialogues at the following URL

http://cbt4panic.org/

We desperately need your support to get the website out to as many people as possible. Please check it out and share with others who might benefit.

Thanks and I wish you well on your journey of recovery.
Robin

I just had a quick look through it (haven't time to go through it properly at the moment) and it looks very interesting and informative.

But I'm just wondering does it deal with health anxiety? I feel that general anxiety and panic, while they are linked to HA, they are also very different. HA seems to have a mind of it's own and has it's own set of rules.
Looking quickly through the website I see lots of references to anxiety and panic but nothing about health anxiety.
Is this course beneficial to HA sufferers?

Hi
You are right - the course is mainly aimed at Panic Disorder

The reason I mentioned it in the HA forum is that my experience is that many people with Panic Disorder drift into HA as well

and past members of NMP who had HA said they got a lot of help from the programme

Overall it can't do any HARM for someone with HA to read it and it will give some very useful skills for dealing with all anxiety - especially workbook 2

I am also soon to upload a book on Mindfulness which is also very helpful for HA

Hope all that makes sense :-)

I had mentioned that I used it along with one on one therapy for some depression and "scanxiety" after my cancer. My therapist was all for it. While certain aspects may not apply to everyone, there are many sections that will be beneficial. I still use many of the techniques as they're useful in everyday stressful situations (work, relationships etc.).

Of course, it take a lot of focus and work but as they say... anything worth having is worth working for. I think having this resource for all members regardless of their particular mental health diagnosis is vital as many are not in a position to get professional real life help. At least there's something that has been shown to be a positive that members can refer to and help themselves.

Thank you so much for that. I will definitely go through it all. As you said , it can't do any harm anyway. I do have some bit of panic and anxiety in me but my main enemy is health anxiety. But if it gives me a tiny bit of help then it'll have been worth it.

Thanks again for sharing it with us :yesyes:

I bought this a couple weeks back, right before it went free.

In those couple weeks, it has prevented so many panic attacks due to health anxiety.

I still have some rough symptoms, but they seem to ease off day by day as I continue to ride it out as opposed to fighting it and going into a full blown panic.

Good program!
