Hello!
I was just reading an article saying that hormonal imbalance may be a cause for anxiety and or depression. I was just wondering whether the contraceptive pill I am using ( and only started using roughly around the time my panic attacks and anxiety started) could have something to do with it?

Has anybody read anything on this topic?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Astrid ,

Certainly there is a tendancy to be worse pre and during period time.

The pill may be affecting this as it chemically changes your natural rhythm.

I've always found that I'm more anxious the day before and for the first day of my period. I haven't noticed that the pill has made this any better or worse though.

Hi Astrid,

I've been on the pill for 13 years but my panic and anxiety attacks only started a few months ago but that is just me. I'm sure it will vary from person to person, depending on their hormones etc. If it was down to the pill I would be off it like a shot, your post has certainly made me think though. We're thinking of trying for a family soon so I will let you know if my feelings subside once I'm off it.

Take care and keep smiling!
