Hi everyone,

I had my colonoscopy come back clear, but on the sheet it said they took some biopsies?

The doctor told me it was normal, but if so, why the biopsies?

Standard procedure.

what would they find from this though.

There were no polyps apparently.

Nothing and that's the point... CYA (cover your arse) medicine. They do the same thing with any mole they remove.

If you had the scope because of IBS symptoms or diarrhea they are checking for microscopic colitis, which is a mild IBD, easily treatable with mild drugs, and not harmful or life threatening or increasing your risk of anything.

It's standard procedure to take small biopsies of the colon wall to check for this minor condition. He or she doesn't think you have cancer.
