After meeting on NMP back in the summer of 2014, AnxietyDJ and I tied the knot in a small ceremony at my childhood home in New Jersey, USA. For those of you who don't know, we dated from the end of the summer of 2014 up until Boxing Day 2016 when we got engaged. AnxietyDJ and I have worked on his visa to come over as my fiance since November 2016. Finally in May of this year, he had his interview at the US embassy in London to make his way over here across the pond to start his life with my daughter and I. It was a long journey, lots of plane trips back and forth and a lot of paper work and hard work. Also tons of anxiety when it came to the application process itself. I think people without anxiety are anxious enough about the whole visa process - for me it was especially anxious as our whole life together rode on this visa going right. With absolutely no reason to worry, things all turned out fine and he received his fiance visa. He moved over here July 20th and we were married 7 days later on July 27, 2017. Best day of our lives. Though anxiety sucks and I wish neither of us had to suffer from it, it is because of it that we met - right here on No More Panic. For over 3 years now we have been each other's rock and have celebrated in the good and helped each other through the bad.
Just wanted to share this feel-good story with you all. Just when we thought we were at the lowest points of our lives, we found each other (and we found many friends and support here on NMP in addition to us). Just goes to show that you never know where the path you are on in life will lead you - and that in the darkest of days, you can find the brightest of lights when least expected.
