I never get heartburn and lately I get this burning sensation for a few seconds on and off throughout the day. I posted the other day about always feeling nervous and shaky and having my stomach "making noises" all the time. Can this heartburn be from my nerves? Please advise. Thanks again.

Yup Shelly, this is almost certainly your nerves! Loads of people with anxiety disorders have problems with heartburn, acid reflux and other digestive probs. There's a thread going on right now over at the health anxiety section where people are posting lists of their medical problems, and many of them have noted this type of thing. I can recommend remegel chewy tablets for occasional use, I have to use some pretty heavy duty drugs for my excess acid but I top up with remegel when I need to, it's pretty effective. Hope it's not bothering you too much!

Hi shelley,as magpie said lots of people get digestive problems with anxiety.Iv had loads of tests done in the past and had lots of meds. Now if I get indigestion, acid reflux, wind,I drink a glass of bottled soda water. If this doesnt help try a level tea spoon of bicarbonate of soda in a glass of water. My nutritionist told me about this.:hugs:

Hi Shelly most definately I had really bad indigestion, heart burn and burning stomache for months Had every test done as I didnt bekieve it was anxiety I even had a scope done cause i could'nt understand why I felt so.when everything came back normal I had no choice but to believe it and gues what When I stopped worrying about it it went away and I took Omeprozole for it but it was prescribed by my doc
Now I hardly get it.Don't worry love it will pass

Yeah god.. when i used to not eat much and my body was used to it .. i didnt have any issues with this ..I had lost weight and well still not gained that much but i get this too especially at night because i suppose im eating more and my stomach has expanded although im not gaining any weight.. But take a few rolaids or eat a bite..It sounds like a little stomach acid and being hungry.. Michael
