I have an ongoing problem with my neck since an untreated whiplash injury many years ago and exacerbated by poor posture. It can cause dizziness, headaches, even tinnitus, as well as just being achey and sore. I go to a chiropractor when I need to - I know I'm lucky that I can afford this - and it helps keep things under control. I try and remember to do neck exercises but I'm not very good at keeping up with them!

Look up cervicogenic dizziness this may give you some helpful information.

Pepperutchie, have you sought medical advice? It sounds to me as if you've put something out in your neck or back when you jumped. And I presume you've had your blood pressure checked or monitored for a few days - though if it is a bit raised, that's much more likely to be down to the anxiety.

Hi lili i havent seen any doc yet, and for my blood pressure i do have this phobia on blood pressure checking that everytime im at the doc it seem quite high like 140/80. And 120/80 when im home. Problem with this anxiety is like a domino effect you cant concentrate on the root cause without being hooked on your thoughts that someting sinister is going on. I have been practicing meditation and it does help me a lot but dince i had this neck pain i stopped and kind of being hooked on my thoughts again.

Higher blood pressure readings are common in the doctor's surgery - they know that too. You seem to have monitored this at home and found it normal so try and forget it. I don't have health anxiety so I don't know how difficult this might be for you.

Ideally you need to see a chiropractor or similar person who specialises in musculo-skeletal problems. I go to a McTimoney chiropractor - McTimoney is a much gentler form of adjustment, like gentle karate chops!

Please try and get help, Pepperutchie, because neck pain is very debilitating and a lot worse if you're tense with worry; if I'd had good advice when I had my injury (I didn't even go to the doctor when it happened as it didn't seem too bad) I wouldn't be suffering so much 25 years later.
