For a number of years, I will occasionally get clicking in my throat that seems to be in time with my pulse. I can only hear it when it's quiet, but my thoughts are that it's esophageal. That is, an artery near one of the valves in my esophagus is is causing it to slightly open and release a little bit of air each time my heart beats. t I can resolve this by swallowing some air and burping, but not always. I've been having some other GERDish symptoms as well (throat clearing after eating, occasional reflux even after non-spicy or acidic foods) and wonder if it could all be of a piece.
I have a doctor's appointment today for another issue and I wonder if it's worth bothering to mention it to her. I don't want to get sent down a testing rabbit hole, I've already spent over $2k this year on healthcare costs (that's WITH insurance) and don't want to waste a bunch a money on an endoscopy or cardio tests for them to tell me to take more pepcid.
