Hard lump on scalp

I just found a hard lump on my scalp, it sorta feels like it’s under the skin. It’s hard and pretty small...maybe the size of a pea. Has anyone ever had anything like this? It’s about an inch above my ear.

Lumps and bumps on head/scalp are very common and in absence of other symptoms totally benign. You could see GP if you notice any changes (eg, it gets bigger), but I seriously wouldn't worry. Try not to play with it and touch it too much as you will just keep focusing on it.

Thanks. I keep pressing it and messing with it so now the area is pretty tender and sore. And I can’t stay off the internet, trying to figure out what it is. 😕

Probably a cyst of some sort? Try to avoid touching it and see if it bursts or goes down on its own in the next few weeks - if it keeps growing or gets painful then seek medical advice, since you might need a doctor to get rid of it properly.

Sure it isn't part of your scalp? I have all sorts of lumpy and bumpy bits all over my skull.
