In reading the thread on here about how many women notice the effect of their hormones on their panic attacks I was wondering.
If in these cases, the attacks are either brought on, or made worse by starting menopause, can changing the way you think really help? If its a chemical change in your body, you can't really control that I don't think.
Saying that, have any of you tried the over the counter/herbal hormonal remedies such as Estroven or similar. If so, have they helped?

never heard of estroven before ? think you can get hormones alot easier in the states than you can here :weep: . But you must be careful not to make things worse, I started on a different progesterone pill yesturday , hoping it will help me too:shrug: .

let me know how it goes.

I am sure the amount of hormones in our bodies makes a HUGE difference to how we feel. I had a total hysterectomy in August 05 and have only had anx, pa problems since then. Whether it was due to the major loss of hormones or the shock of being taken ill and the op remains to be seen.

I am now on HRT pills and patches and apparently my hormones are now at the right level! I am on the long road of recovery and fighting agoraphobia. As I am still quite young (38) I could not manage on supplements as I need a much higher dose that only HRT can provide.
