Hello,
I was given 20 5 mg pills of valium which I took one time per day for two weeks with two days taking two a day. After that I took one per week for three weeks and it is has been 10 days since the last one is it normal to feel the following?
Back pain
Gastro problems
Leg weakness
Overall fatigue
Head tightness

Withdrawal from a med like that will have significant yet normal symptoms. Just give it some time.

Valium is a benzodiazepine and everything benzo is hell. Just consider yourself lucky, and please get off from that drug no matter what. I had been in the worst benzo for 17 years without knowing its destructive effect. And yes, I had all those symptoms. Psych meds had destroyed my body. I'm facing ulcerative colitis now, besides others. You see, they generally are not the root cause of disease as far as I know (except maybe brain damage), but they can aggravate our health weakness whenever we try to withdraw. I found nutrition and how gut health is related with psychiatric disorders to he helpful. If you can't quit cold turkey, just taper it gently until you've managed to get out.

Hi

This is just a courtesy reply to let you know that your post was moved from its original place to a sub-forum that is more relevant to your issue.

This is nothing personal - it just enables us to keep posts about the same problems in the relevant forums so other members with any experience with the issues can find them more easily.

You were only on for two weeks so it's unlikely you formed any tolerance. How you then took them once a week would have meant some overlap but after the first week that would be substantially reduced.

Over here the guidance to GP's is that they can prescribe them for two weeks daily use. We wouldn't be tapering after only two weeks.

Yeah my GP said the taper wasn't necessary I just saved the last three to take on a weekly basis kind of saving it for when I really needed them.
