View Full Version : Quick question about my lymph nodes.

So i've been on this site for a whole year now, ive plagued this site with fears of cancer. at first i know my fears were rational, but as time passed and nothing changed i'm aware the fears slowly became irrational. Now i have seen about 5 doctors, none showed any concern, the only doctor that even blinked was the last doctor i seen who recommended that i see a ENT just to be on the safe side but he also said he didn't see anything that he was too concerned about, but he also admitted to me he is not a specialist and that he would rather a specialist take a look rather than him giving a definitive answer to my situation. I went to see the ENT but i was rescheduled because the ENT had to take off on short notice. So it has now been a year since i noticed these lymph nodes on my neck, and nothing has changed as far as i can tell, and i havent developed any symptoms such as night sweats, weight loss, etc. the only thing thats different is i have a tiny bump in front of my ear that i can move around, but it's really tiny, i assume it's a node, but i have been having jaw soreness, stiffness, popping when opening my mouth and some ear aches from time to time as well as ear fullness, which all sound to me like tmj, and im not sure if this can cause a node to swell or not. anyways enough of that, given the time, lack of symptoms, and so on, do you honestly believe it's safe to say i absolutely do not have cancer? because i am ready to put this fear to rest and move on, and i believe enough time has passed for me to safely move on with my life and end this fear once in for all. i know alot of you here will hate to see me posting about this again. but you have to understand, the way that i've been living lately is enough to drive a man crazy, and i am just sick of being mentally sick. so please give me your honest opinons dont just tell me something just to ease my mind, i can handle anything, i've made it this far. sorry for such a long post and i hope you made it through it and thank you so much for taking the time to read it.

If 5 doctors and a specialist can't convince you that is isn't cancer how can random strangers on the internet?

You know it isn't cancer and now it's time to move on put it behind you

Other than the fact this is just more reassurance seeking behavior, I don't understand the point. What will be different this time?

Good luck and as always...

What would be great to see from you would be a post where you don't mention anything about your perceived symptoms or history with lymph nodes at all, and just talk about concrete plans for how you're going to deal with your anxiety.

If it's been a year and you aren't very ill then you do not have lymphoma. It's not possible.

ellie im not asking for medical advice, i've already seen doctors. but i know that alot of you on here has been through my situation and have seen others in my situation so i know you guys can relate to my issues, and i've always read you guys talking about time and how over cetain periods time you can be sure its nothing to worry about. so that was all i was asking is if a year was enough time to let it go and move on.

Sorry. I just thought it was obviously time to move on from it without us telling you it's time to move on.

You can move on as soon as you get the all clear really, you don't need to time it to a year etc :)
