Blocked ear

I've recently had a very bad cold and for 2 days now for periods of the day my left ear feels clogged up when I talk like a echo it does go but comes back a few hours later is this just because I've been bunged up An it effects my ears too?

Yes, almost certainly. Very common after a cold. Should just go away soon. Or if you have a bit of wax in there you can use some drops or get it syringed.
