Seroxat and buspirone (buspar)

I have been on seroxat (Paxil) for 18 years due to severe OCD (seroxat has enabled me to manage my OCD well) and as my health anxiety and night time over eating resulting in enormous weight gain which is getting out of control I have been put on buspirone ASWELL

What can I expect from this??

Lessen urge to eat?

Any help gratefully received

Weight gain is a hard one. I'm not sure whether the Buspar was specifically for tackling weight issue but if anxiety is the cause - ie, comfort eating - lowering your anxiety level would have some impact, I would think. It is worth trying if your doctor has prescribed it and wish you luck.

I replied yesterday but my post was mysteriously deleted.

Buspar is a very benign medication and works well for mild anxiety but for severe anxiety it may not be enough.

I tried it for a month but it had no effect, coming off it was no problem.

There are other alternatives but hopefully it does the job for you
