This has been a week I would love to have missed out on.

To begin with, I had an MRI scheduled for my pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear, it is of minor concern because I actually do have a diagnosed aortic aneurysm at my aortic root. That puts my at a higher risk for brain and carotid aneurysms.

But monday morning, all the veins on my left temple are very visible, thick and braided. I think about temporal arteritis, a dangerous condition capable of causing blindness and stroke. I go to the ER, but I am dismissed. I get a lot of tests, and sent to the eye doctor, then go to my GP the next day. All of them send me home, but no one can tell me why the veins on my temple are swollen.

Now I had my MRI yesterday, and still no word, have that hanging there, waiting for me. I hope I get to know before the end of the week, or I will not hear until next week.

How long have you guys waited to hear back on an MRI?

Anyway, just a long week, loads of anxiety, and needed to vent...

You may need to wait until Monday, but that’s a good thing. If the tech found something, it wouldn’t be put off.

no one can tell me why the veins on my temple are swollen.

Perception: "The veins on my temple are swollen". To you, they are.

Reality: Not swollen based on several medical professionals exams. If it were an issue, you wouldn't have been sent home.

Yeah, thanks Fishmanpa for bringing back the logic. You cut through the BS in my head better than my therapist. :-)

Just generally anxious and looking for places to drop it.
