Hello everyone. I'm a 27 year old woman and the only medication I am on is birth control, I drink and smoke moderately. Lately, I am having a great deal of anxiety about a recent lump on my throat that appears to be hard, immobile and taller than it is wider. My dentist brought this to my attention Friday during a check up, I hadn't been to the dentist in 8 years so I was told it could be inflammation from bacteria by my bf's mom (who is a nurse). A few months ago I had some soft bump on my right lymph node and it seemed to go away on it's own, but I was given a referral by my doctor to see an imaging specialist. I'm going to fax my referral tomorrow and make and appointment to be seen as soon as possible.
Has anyone else had this experience before? I don't have any trouble swallowing or breathing but the lump is very subtle. I couldn't tell I had it until I leaned my neck back but it's about 2.5-3 cm wide.
