Diazepam is 20mg too much in one go Toenail Removal

Hi there
I am having my toenail removed tomorrow it is ingrowing I am totally panicing about the injection being really painful. I am a regular user of diazepam and I take 5mg at least 3 times a week at night.
My mum has told me to take 20mg before it she thinks 5mg wont touch me as I am a regular user, for 21 years.
I have only ever taken a maximum dose of 7mg at once which helped a lot.
Climbing the walls and I still have 22 hours to go

Why don't you ask for some numbing cream to put on beforehand and it numbs the area ready for the injection. Get it asap as it needs to be on for about an hour beforehand.

Yes I think 20mg is too much to take in one go and this should be discussed with your doctor really and not on the advice of your mum.

I also think 20mg is too much. You don't want to be staggering into hospital or they might cancel op.

They should offer you sedation anyway, along with anaesthesia during procedure.

Hi gordie1 I had my ingrowing toenail removed a few years back it was a breeze all done in a matter of mins and under a local anaesthetic you will be fine :) ATB
