Painful tongue and cold! Needing advice!

Hi, people, I'm looking for some advice/reassurance. Since Monday I started developing a common sore throat, low grade fever and then other common symptoms of a cold. I have a cold, that's right, but something weird started: the sore throat has gone away but now I have a strange pain in the back part of my tongue (the very back, next to the throat) that really hurts when I swallow or when I move my tongue. Taking painkillers helps for a few hours, but the pain comes back! I'm still having other symptoms of the cold so I'm not totally okay, but this pain it's what makes me so anxious.
Someone experienced something similar? Please.
