I've been on .25mg x 3 a day for 6 days. (Starting a new ssri) is it ok to just stop after such a short time and low dose?

I don't want withdrawals, as I have had them due to klonopin years ago after 2 months use and quitting cold turkey

It's ok to stop, I'm pretty sure. 6 days isn't nearly enough time for you to get dependent.

Yes, 6 days is not long at all and you are on a tiny dose.

I'm on 0.5 mg no more than 3x a week . I'm desperate to ensure I don't become tolerant / dependant how can I prevent this ? How soon will I develop tolerance

Hello fretty freda,

0.5mg 3x per week is a really tiny dosage. However, you may still develop dependency if you sustain this schedule over a long period (depends on the individual). Try skipping one entire week per month to flush it out of your system ... if you start get withdrawal symptoms, then you may be getting dependent.

Tolerance to benzo's begins at the 2 week mark, so I'd get off them by then.
