Are there any members who have successfully stopped taking the meds, and are now functioning properly while meds free?

I stopped it 9 months ago and was feeling good for a while, but started it back again yesterday.

I would say it's possible to be med free, but do not make it a target. Mental health issues take a lot of time to recover and you have to accept that. Even if you have to take meds, it's not such a bad thing :)
