Hey All!
I've have GERD for years maybe 10 - and over the last couple of years it's gotten really bad, like a painful inflammed stomach, the Dr has said that my stomach feels inflamed and it's likely it's Gastritis, I went to a Gastro Dr two years ago and he said I don't need an endoscopy and it's probably chronic indigestion.
Whatever it is it's frustrating me.
I'm trying really hard to manage my anxiety and I'm not yet over come with panic which is a good sign.
What happens to me is that my stomach feels tight nad instead of a burning feeling I get a burning horrible pain between my shoulder blades like someone is putting hot rods into them - the Dr has called this referred pain, does anyone else get that?
I'm burping all the time at the moment too - so back on Omperazole but I shouldn't ignore the cancer aspect here - indigestion for 10 years, gastritis now on and off for 3 years ... time for an endoscopy I think but anyone else relate????

I'm getting the same thing lately. I get really, really bloated, stomach pain, and back pain. Sometimes lower back pain, and sometimes in my upper back between my shoulder blades. It worries me :(

All the time. It's often so tender to touch above my belly button.
It's so, SO common in people with anxiety. Think how easily the 'average' person gets a nervous stomach/butterflies. My stomach does that crazy 'lunge' thing whenever one of my kids go to fall over, etc. It's instant.

Try CBD oil, really helps mine. Sipping some Sprite does too, strangely

Look at the FODMAP (https://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/) diet. Keep a journal of the foods you're eating, when, what and any reaction and modify your diet accordingly. My wife and I both suffer from reflux. We take a PPI (Protonix) and follow that diet. Unless we stray from the list, we rarely have an issue.

What sufferers of anxiety disorders don't always appreciate is that anxiety takes its toll on the body and you will be hit at your weakest point, in your case gastric problems. Not a criticism that you're not doing enough but a warning, nonetheless, that unless we take responsibility for our mental health, eventually, our physical health will be affected too.

Yeah I hear you KK..... that's so damn on its scary - that's the worst for a health anxiety sufferer is knowing that after years of all this anxiety we can actually cause disease!

I'm not saying you'll get a terminal disease but chronic conditions like the one you have can get worse, and others could also crop up, if anxiety isn't treated.

We may not be able to "cure" anxiety disorders but we can get them under control to a large extent through treatment and therapy. That's all we can strive to do.
