Hello Everyone,

On Monday I woke up, and 5 minutes later started experiencing terrible terrible pain near my right naval side.. then moving down towards my pelvis... it lasted for about a half hour.. i layed on a heating pad, the pain started to dissipate all of a sudden and went away. yesterday was also day 14 of my cycle ( ovulation maybe?0

I didn't really feel much expect mild twinges of lower back pain for the rest of the day ( on the right) I felt fine yesterday, and then last night around 11, I started to feel what felt like pinching/pricking in my back and a little in the front.. almost where the crease of my leg meets my abdomen,, maybe a half inch up.. It almost feels like a side ache, or like pinpricks, sometimes when I press on the area I feel pain, sometimes nothing... there will be moments where i feel pressure or movement, and then when i pass gas, I can feel the pain a little.

I read that sometimes people have appendixes that sit behind the colon and pain can be felt in pelvis/back.... do I need to worry about appendicitis, or do you guys think this is more ovary related?

Regardless of where the pain from appendicitis can be felt, its a medical emergency and once the pain starts it does not stop...

As far as weather its an ovarian cyst or ovary related, only a doctor would know. You should get an appointment with your doctor if the pain persists..

So... wouldn’t it be getting worse then? Can appendicitis pain stay just a little painful then. Burst and kill me???

If you had appendicitis you would know something was terribly wrong and no it wont just be a little painful and it does not come and go.. Once it starts it gets worse and worse in a matter of mere hours and it doesn't stop or let up in intensity and there is usually more then just pain. You do not have appendicitis. Its an acute condition and a medical emergency.. Trust me when I tell you that if you had it, you would not be on here asking questions... You would be in the hospital.

That’s not necessarily true. I worked with someone who had an appendicitis, but it didn’t burst. It was just inflamed. They scheduled her in for surgery and she had to wait over a month for it. Some days she said it was painful and others she said that it felt like it went away. She got it removed and it definitely was her appendix bothering her.

I also have a friend who’s appendix burst when we were young. She was very sick from it, pain was so bad she couldn’t walk, vomiting, fever. That’s a medical emergency. Thankfully she’s OK today, but you wouldn’t be able to miss a burst appendix.

To the OP tho - I have been diagnosed with an ovarian cyst and what you’re describing sounds similar to me. Most women actually develop cysts in their lives and don’t even know it. They’re usually not a big deal. I’d still get it checked out for peace of mind. I see a gyno in March for a folllw up on it.

Could also just be gas.

I didn’t mean to? My internet has been acting up so I think that’s why?

Yeah.. I’m going to go to my dr to get it checked out today...

I have an ovarian cyst.. they found it back in March.. but told me that they take about 3 months to go away.. so I figured it had gone away..I had an iud that imbedded... so that’s why they did an ultrasound, I had a newer, smaller iud placed, I check the strings once a week and it appears to be in place..

It’s qeird cause my pain is almost constant in my lower back.. but I can feel it’s coming from my stomach.

They also told me that the ovarian cyst may go away on its own, which most do. I live in Canada so getting in to see a specialist is always a super long wait. Anyway for almost a year my period was so painful. I can’t even describe the pain ... I went to my doctor and was basically told to wait until I saw the gyno.
A couple months ago the pain got so bad I just laid on a heating pad with a fever. Since then the pain has been gone.
I have a friend who is a nurse and says it sounds like it most likely burst and the fever was my body re-absorbing all the junk.

I hope yours goes away on its own, but sometimes they’re stubborn. If you have been diagnosed and have pain then it’s most likely from the cyst than an appendix issue.

Thanks :) the pain went away all weekend and now it just came back tonight..

Out of nowhere it was very bad pain again and I feel a warm sensation inside... I’m a week away from my period..

I’m just really hoping it’s not my appendix

Why don't you make an appointment with your doctor if you are worried it's your appendix? If it's your appendix and it burst it's not gonna be good. I mean personally, all the people I have known that had appendicitis, it was an urgent thing but the other poster on here said they knew someone who had appendicitis and they had to wait a whole month to get it out so may be for some people it's not an emergency but a burst appendix is emergency for everyone. I don't think it's your appendix but I'm no doctor.. You are clearly worried it may be your appendix so get it checked out. If it is, you get it taken care of before it causes major complications and if it's not then at least you know... it's a win win to me.
