Hello everyone.

I have this mole on my back near my shoulder blade that is darker than most others and not round. I’m not even sure how long it’s been there, my physician noticed it when when I had a mole check on Monday. I’ve already had 3 others removed his week and still waiting on the biopsy results. My physician wants to remove this one but wants me to wait until around the beginning of February while my other excisions heal. I guess I’d just like a bit of advice as to whether I should just do that and keep an eye on it or if I should ask him if he could remove it say next week? It’s the closest to melanoma I can see on my body. It’s probably around 3 mm or so. My doctor generally likes to remove any moles that appear atypical and he biopsies every single one. I’ve been really anxious this week about melanoma and it’s really hindering my life right now.

I am on the same boat with you on the melanoma this week, waiting on a biopsy myself. I would get it removed, peace of mind, knowing results sooner. But that's just me.

Not looking at the photos as no one here is qualified but I would just follow your doctor's advice. It's obvious he's on top of it.

The beginning of February is only two weeks away as opposed to one week. He seems to have an in depth knowledge of your skin and how to treat it. Be guided by him. He may be delaying simply because you are already vulnerable to infection having a couple of excision sites.

When my dermatologist had a concern about my mole he took it off then and there. In fact his words were "we'll get that right off". Came back negative btw.

Good point Toddsmum, when I commented, somehow February seemed very far off in my mind. Still not caught up I guess!

You're going through a really traumatic time. Surgery, recovery and now something else that may need surgery is weighing in too. That all takes a toll on your body and how it heals. Take a week, heal yourself and then go into the next one stronger. I'm sure if he had any concerns he would have scheduled you sooner. Good luck for your results.

Thank you everyone. I was actually able to have a good night for the first time this week last night. I’m just trying to think positive. I’m still anxious over the biopsy, but I made an appointment with a dermatologist for Monday so she can check out the others just for peace of mind. I trust my doctor but seeing a specialist would put my mind at ease. Right now I’m looking at every single mole on my body questioning if it’s abnormal but also trying to remind myself that it is nothing until they tell me it is. Not sure how well
It’s working but it’s something. This is rough but I’ll carry on.
