Two months ago I showed my doctor a picture of a mole on my foreskin and he said to wait 2 months, take another picture and show him again. Today I went to the doc again with my new picture and he showed it to the skin specialist and told me that I needed it biopsied. I had it biopsied and now I cant stop crying because I know it's gonna be something awful. I've had the mole for about 2 years and I only recently was concerned about it. I just assumed it was nothing and now I'm paying the price. I don't want to live anymore.

Why wouldn't he just examine it... he's a doctor... PLus, if you've had the mole for 2 years and it was skin cancer, you wouldn't be alive

He didn't examine it at first because I was too embarrassed. Then after He looked at my new picture he decided it should be done.

Having a biopsy does not always mean cancer. Could be just a mole. My husband has had 20 moles removed so far and no cancer. He just has atypical moles. My point is, not always are moles cancer

This. My husband has all sorts of weird moles EVERYWHERE (dysplasic nevi or something I think it's called). He had one removed years ago for biopsy and it was completely benign. No cancer.

Thanks for your replies, everyone. I've calmed down quite a bit now but the feeling of impending doom remains. As a side note, Is it normal for doctors to only take a part of the mole and not all? I'm kinda worried that if they only get a part they'll misdiagnose it as noncancerous when in reality they've missed the cancerous section.

They know what they're doing. This is pretty 101 stuff for them!

I had a mole removed this week that was black, irelregular, and asymmetrical. I had no idea how long it had been there. I convinced myself I had melanoma.

It came back mildly atypical. That’s it. Atypical but not cancer.

Just because something is biopsied doesn’t mean it’s cancer. You’ll find tons of people on here who have had many moles biopsied that have come back fine. The odds are incredibly in your favor that it is nothing!

The results came back and it isn't cancer. Thank god.

So glad for you, now for a glass of champers!

Most of these growing freckles and moles are benign, the specialists know at a glance, but like to be on the safe side :)
