Has anyone had any success with Sertraline for OCD?

I have contamination/germ ocd, aswel as the type of OCD where I have to check things a million times (oven is off, doors are locked before I can go to bed for example)
I also get intrusive thoughts and have to do certain things or I am convinced something bad will happen.
Its starting to take over my life.
Doctor prescribed me Sertraline a couple of months ago and it has been sitting in my draw collecting dust as I had been reluctant to take it but lately I feel like giving in. Has it actually helped anyone? X

Yes, I started it again. Last year I was taking it for about 4 months and I was like a whole new person, all my concerns seemed to be in the background, almost invisible.
I hope it will help you! I started it again, but still no effect, you have to be patient

Hi,
I was diagnosed when I was 15, put on 150mg sertraline. I really do think it helps so it's worth giving it a go. Therapy is useful too but sometimes you have to have the help of the medicine to calm the mind a bit so you can work through the therapy
