I suffer fron super ventricular tachycardia episodes for 6 years. Under specialist cardio. I have daily very short attacks but on saturday noght for first time i had a really bad one 196bpm that would not stop after 30 mins. I felt awful and as instructed by cardio called ambulance. I had repeated attacks over next 7 hrs but a dose of betablockers helped
I have spent 48 hrs in hospital but now on way home. When i had the svt the drug other than calming the problem did not have great effect on me but taking it this morning when my pulse and bp is normal i can hardly keep my eyelids up. My usual pulse is 75-90 but now 60-75. My bp before drug was 121/79. Dread to think what it is now. Will take once home. The cardio told me to persevere with 2.5mg of bisopropol as it could really help stop the svt although wont help ectopics. Ablation is an option but serious treatment. Anyone here on betablockers amd their experience please

I've been on them since heart surgery in '07. Other than limiting my physical activity (it puts a cap on how hard my heart will work), nope... fine.

I had to halve the dose as my bp was going too low! So took 1.25mg today. Pulse is still in 60's but bp has come up to normal range. From 90/60 to 114/76.
Am seeing dr friday to discuss as feeling a little breathless which i never have and can be betablocker side effect. They certainly slow the pulse.
