I was wondering if I could get some advice, recently I have started waking with adrenaline and my heart racing. This will go on for a few hours until I have done enough meditation to calm myself down.

I'm am aware this is anxiety however it's more a physical anxiety rather than a mental anxiety. My doctor prescribed me fluoxetine 20mg which hasn't helped at all apart from adding symptons such as insomnia and paranoia I know these can take anywhere up to 8 weeks to take effect.

I have been made aware of beta blockers that I believe would solve the issue I am having directly with the heart pulpitations and adrenaline. My only issue is the doctor will not prescribe me beta blockers due to my history of asthma. I haven't used my inhaler for over 7 years.

Has anyone used beta blockers with a history of asthma before?

I just can't see a reason to stay on fluo xetine if I'm not suffering from depression or any mental illness. Taking this medication is making me depressed and the side effects are making more issues than what I originally had.

Thanks in advance
