Hello

Wonder if anyone can offer some advice my panic attacks seem to be more frequent when I am driving and as this is a large part of my job it's becoming a bit of a problem

Thanks for the links Nicola I'll have a good read of those I think that I would be able to control panic if I can control my breathing I don't tend to hyper ventilate but its more shallow breathing then I try to a big breath and can't get enough air in then the panic sets in:ohmy:

i also suffer with the driving phobia i can drive but not on highways or more than like 5-10 miles :( i have to beat this its holding me back from to many things in my life...i wish ya the best....Linda

I feel panicky if in the car for any amount of time too, I just stick to local journeys and at the moment and havent driven on the motorway for 3 years now. Good luck and if you get any breakthroughs with the driving let me know please!

I just drive myself to work, 3miles and thats enough for me , although i have just posted on here under success stories, as before getting back driving on motorways or any lenghty driving i ,m learing to keep my p.a. at bay in the backseat of the car, deep breathing, let your stomach rise, and breath out slowly , distract yourself from the thought of having a p.a. take a few drops of rescue remedy, it works very well. Safe driving. :hugs:
