View Full Version : Livedo reticularis - mottled skin
Hello
I think my 16 year old daughter may have an autoimmune disease.
She has Livedo reticularis on her hands arms and legs.
More so in the cold.
Does anyone else suffer with this?
Thank you x
Dr. Google I presume? :whistles:

Never heard of it so I googled:
A mottled purplish discoloration of the skin. Livedo reticularis can be a normal condition that is simply more obvious when a person is exposed to the cold
Quite a positive result from Dr Google this time so it's normal plus the weather has been extra cold last 4 or 5 days so again there is your answer elviiswi ATB
Hello
I know it can be normal but I dont see it on anyone else unless it's people that have things like Lupus.

Has she been diagnosed with this or did you diagnose it?
I just Googled it too, as never heard of it. I got this from Wikipedia (emphasis mine).
Idiopathic livedo reticularis – the most common form of livedo reticularis, completely benign condition of unknown cause affecting mostly young women during the winter.
Hi
I just Googled "mottled skin" and it came up.

Give it a few weeks and if no better then go and see doctor.

Mottled skin is normal. My daughter gets it and she is 100% healthy

I get this in the winter when it’s cold. Always have and I’ll be 39 in a couple more months  never really concerned me lol.
Hello
It certainly is more noticably in the cold. SHe wears shorts and a t shirt in the house.
I hope its just one of those thing that my anxiety has picked up on.
She said she has a school friend that is the same and they compare their skin x
